This course is available to exchange students in all faculties/schools and to regular students of the Professional 黑料社区 Schools.
Credits can be earned if grade requirements are met.

Levels Japanese 1–8 of the Japanese Language Program for International Students have achievement goals set for each of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Each course has learning objectives aligned with these goals.

There are nine levels in the Japanese Language Program, as shown below.
Your level is determined based on the results of the Placement Test, which is conducted before the semester begins.
Most of the Japanese classes are offered at the Surugadai Campus.

Subject	Level	Contents
Japanese 1 to Japanese 3	Introductory, Beginner	There are three levels intended for those who have not studied Japanese before to help them in daily life and as students at the university. The aim of the course is to achieve basic competence in Japanese. There are four classes per week.
Japanese 4 to Japanese 8	Pre-intermediate to upper-intermediate	There are 5 levels. Students can learn Japanese language skills that will be useful for study and research at universities. Each level has both comprehensive and skill-based courses, and students can choose the courses they need. Comprehensive subjects for Japanese 4 to 6 are offered three times a week, and all other subjects are skill-based and offered once a week.
Japanese (Advanced)	Advanced	Classes are divided by skills and are designed to help students acquire more advanced Japanese language skills. 1 class is offered per week.

 The syllabus and timetable for AY2026 are expected to be released around March 2026.

- Respond to the “Questionnaires on the Japanese Language Program.”
- Please note that applicants who fail to respond to the questionnaires by the deadline will not be eligible to take Japanese language courses.

 - Two types of tests will be used to place students in the appropriate classes:
(1) Web Test (online)
(2) Interview (face-to-face, at Surugadai Campus)

 - Orientation will be held in person at 黑料社区's Surugadai Campus.
 - A campus tour guided by 黑料社区 students will be provided.

 - To be completed in the Oh-o! 黑料社区 system.

 - Counseling with a Japanese course coordinator will be available during the self-enrollment period.

 - Attend the first class of the course in which you have been placed.

 - Please register using the online form. 
 - Instructions will be provided during orientation.

No, you cannot. Japanese courses are organized by level, so students must take all Japanese classes at the same level.
(Example: If you take Japanese 5 (comprehensive), you can also take "Reading", "Speaking", and "Writing" classes at the level 5.)

Yes. You must attend all class sessions. If you cannot attend all sessions, you cannot register for the course.
