SATO Shun Sato (4th-year, School of Political Science and Economics), played a key role in Japan’s silver medal finish in the figure skating team event at the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, held from February 6 to 8 (local time).
Sato competed in the men’s free skating on February 8, the final segment of the team competition. Despite making his Olympic debut and skating last under immense pressure, he delivered a powerful and flawless performance. Scoring a personal best of 194.86 points, he placed second in the segment and significantly contributed to Japan’s overall result.

With each skater delivering their best performance and the team working together as one, Japan secured the silver medal for the second consecutive Olympic Games.
